Valorization of wet biomass residues for sustainable steel production with efficient nutrient recycling.

BioReSteel aims to validate the production of biochar using wet biomass waste, from Ingelia, and hydrothermal processes (hydrochar), and injecting it in the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to reduce Scope 1 CO2 emissions from steel production by replacing the consumption of injected anthracite. Global Steel Wire melt shop will set requirements and test the new biochar mixed with recycled plastics in their production process.
