Pilot plant for methanol production using calcium looping and heat recovery.
101177725
To develop a pilot plant for the production of e-methanol from CO2 captured in industrial processes, using calcium looping for its capture, optimising energy use through industrial symbiosis and controlling the process with artificial intelligence.. CELSA Poland is presented as a use case for harnessing waste heat and consuming e-methanol in billet reheating. The project will optimise heat recovery and its application in the steelmaking process (e.g. for preheating scrap), define design principles for e-methanol integration, evaluate costs and analyse the incorporation of renewable energies, contributing to CELSA's goal of achieving a net positive balance by 2050.
