To accelerate the transition of reheating furnaces used in the steel industry towards the use of green hydrogen through hybrid burners capable of combining natural gas, hydrogen and different levels of oxygen, optimising the process through Digital Twins.. Eight new hybrid burners based on air combustion, capable of operating at up to 100% hydrogen, but also compatible with natural gas, designed for the heating zone of the rolling furnace,two hybrid burners based on oxy-combustion in the soaking zone, the combination of two different burner technologies with Digital Twin simulation will provide significant insight into the behaviour of hydrogen under different combustion conditions.
