  • The appointment of García-Alarcón is a new step in the process of strengthening the group for the future, following the appointments of Rafael Villaseca as Chairman and Jordi Cazorla as CEO.

  • The former CFO of Indra will bring his experience and professionalism forged in a solid 25-year career managing finance departments of leading Spanish multinationals in the telecommunications, energy and technology sectors.

Barcelona, 1 February 2024 – The CELSA Group, Europe’s leading producer of low-emission circular steel, has appointed Borja García-Alarcón Altamirano as its new Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The incorporation of García-Alarcón, who has extensive experience in large Spanish companies, strengthens CELSA’s management team and represents a further step towards consolidating its leadership in the sector.

He began his professional career in 1999 at Telefónica as a financial analyst and was subsequently appointed director of Financial Analysis and head of Affiliates. At that time he was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Indra, becoming also a member of the Management Committee.

“I am proud to join CELSA and to bring my experience in financial management to a historic company and a benchmark in its sector, alongside a top-level management team with the shared objective of laying the foundations for sustainable growth,” explains García-Alarcón. Jordi Cazorla, CEO of CELSA, said: “The appointment of Borja García-Alarcón as CFO is a key step in the company’s commitment to talent and the highest standards in corporate governance”.

García-Alarcón will form part of the CELSA Group’s management committee, and his appointment is a continuation of the recruitment process initiated in recent months, the priority of which is to provide CELSA with a team of recognised national and international prestige to lead the new stage of consolidation and development of the company.
