CELSA Group™ has received the Factories of the Future Awards for its I-SCRAP technology innovation project. Relying on artificial vision, the project promotes better decision making as it is based on the development of an online classification model of the raw material during the steelmaking process.

The Group has imposed itself in the category ‘Technological innovation for the factory of the future’, which recognizes the best innovation project in the field of digitalization and automation of industrial processes in which the product or service is already in place.

The winning projects, selected by a jury of experts from more than a hundred candidates, have been announced at a gala chaired by Àngels Chacón, Councilor for Enterprise and Knowledge of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and Matilde Villarroya, Director General of Industry of the Department of Enterprise and Knowledge.

The delivery ceremony of the Factories of the Future Awards took place within the framework of Advanced Factories, the largest European congress of industrial innovation, which brought together more than 14,000 professionals from all over the sector in Barcelona.
