Celsa Group shares its experience in technological innovation with hundreds of companies

Barcelona, May 5, 2017

  • With purpose of sharing knowledge and experiences in the environment of new technologies and innovation, CELSA Group™, the first Spanish private steel group, has hosted today the III Seminar Cercle de Directors TIC, with the title “Leading digital Business [r] evolution”.

The conference, organized by Cercle de Directors TIC, has brought together more than 100 companies and professionals of the ICT ecosystem (Information and Communication Technologies) to put in context different current issues related to the digital environment and business.

For the occasion, Celsa Group has opened the doors of its IT area, formed by more than 100 expert professionals, to share its vision and strategy to lead the digital transformation in Industry 4.0.

The CIO of Celsa Group, Jesus Mayordomo, stressed that the Group “is committed to innovation as a lever to revolutionize the steel sector and lead the transformation that poses industry 4.0”. In his presentation, Mayordomo emphasized the responsibility and leadership required of the role of the CIO in companies, to adapt their businesses thanks to new technologies and to face the challenges that the market and society are demanding.

The session was attended by Xavier Albaladejo, Agile-Lean (Executive) Coach and Organizational Transformation in Mango, who explained the role played by the Agile-Lean methodology in the company.


Celsa Group: Leading digital Business [r]evolution

Ignasi Salvador, Innovation Director of Celsa Group, in his speech presented Ingenium; the Celsa Group talent support program that was born to take on the transformation that Industry 4.0 proposes, lead the change and, ultimately, revolutionize the steel sector.

The IT Operation & Support Service Manager of Celsa Group, Miguel Vargas, focused his presentation on Organizació IT and IT Operation & Support Services.

Joan Ral, IT PMO & Application Service Manager of Celsa Group, explained how the post-ERP era has affected the project portfolio and the need to have a PMO (Project Management Office) with two speeds to meet the demand of digitalization.

Meanwhile, Manel Parra, IT Architecture & Infrastructure Service Manager of Celsa Group, spoke about the challenge of accompanying the business in the digital transformation.

Also, the event has had different round tables where specialized speakers from the IT world have addressed issues such as collaboration tools, the cloud, project management, ServiceDesk, different methodologies for the management of ITSM services and tools, among others.
